Review service charges
Service Charges reports provide a wealth of information you can use to review and analyze the services consumed by your business unit. To access the Service Charges reports:
- On the Application menu, click Billing Standard (see Billing Standard menu).
- On the Report collection menu, click Service Charges .

On the bar at the top of the page, select a report in the collection. Report options include:
- Usage Summary report
- Invoice report
- Invoice Overview report
- Detailed Invoice report
- Applications report
- Cloud report
- Projects report
- Service Library report
Configure the reports
You can configure many Service Charges reports by using filters and adding columns. Filters are displayed across the top of the reports in blue boxes. Click the down arrow to select filter values. Use Shift-Click to select more than one value. Use the Global Filters in the upper-right corner to filter an entire report to a specific business unit.
On the Detailed Invoice tab, click the checkboxes to add columns to the tables.
Usage Summary report
The Usage Summary report provides a quick overview of charges across all business units or for a single business unit, and for a specific department. Click items in the chart for details about a specific service.
Questions answered by this report:
- What are the business unit's charges for the current month?
- How many units of a service did the business unit consume?
- What is the fastest increasing/decreasing services by charges?
- What is the fastest increasing/decreasing services by Units consumed?
Invoice report
The Invoice report contains the same information that is included in invoices mailed out to users.
This report has the following tables:
Added and Removed Services
Price Changes
Unit Rate Changes
Consumption Changes
Allocation Changes
Questions answered by this report:
- What are my monthly and quarterly IT charges?
- How do my actual IT charges compare to the planned spend?
- What services have been added or removed in the previous month and what is the impact to my monthly bill?
- What services have had price changes and what is the impact on my monthly bill?
- What services have had changes to the their effective price and what was the impact to my monthly bill?
- What changes in service consumption have occurred and how have they impacted the business unit's bill?
- What allocation changes have occurred that impact the business unit's bill?
Added and Removed Services
This table shows the impact of service offerings for charges which either began this month or ended this month.

Number of units added or removed and their unit price. |

Unit price multiplied by the number of units added or removed in the previous month. |
Price Changes
This table shows the impact of changes in the effective price of service offerings with prices defined in the Service Library, calculated with the previous month's units.

Unit Rate Changes
This table shows the impact of changes in the effective price of service offerings with units, calculated with the previous month's units.

Consumption Changes

Invoice Overview report
Use the Invoice Overview report to review service charges for all business units and to look at details for each service type.

- What are the business unit's charges for the current month, quarter, and YTD?
- What are the top five services consumed during the current month?
- What are the variances with my budget/plan?
- How many units of a service are the business units consuming?
- Which services had an increase or decrease in consumption and by how much month-over-month?
Detailed Invoice report
Use the Detailed Invoice report to answer questions about charges. Filter the data, add columns, and pivot the data on specific dimensions.

Applications report
Use the Applications report to review service charges by application.

- Where is the function that the SaaS application supports?
- How many Units of the SaaS application were used?
- What is the purpose of the SaaS application?
Cloud report
Use the Cloud report to review charges for cloud services.

- What cloud infrastructure is the business using?
- What are the monthly charges for the infrastructure?
- How many units of each service is the business using?
- What program does the infrastructure support?
- What detailed services is the business unit leveraging?
Projects report
Use the Projects report to review service charges by project. Filter the report by project type, project life cycle, business initiative, and spend type.

- What project charges have been assigned to the business units?
- What are the current month, quarter-to-date, and year-to-date charges?
- What is the assigned business initiative that the project(s) support?
- What program does the project support?
- What is the project for: RTB, GTB or TTB?
Service Library report
Use the Service Library report to review the per unit charges for each service. Filter the data and add columns to the table using the controls running across the top of the report. A checkbox adds a column to the table.
