Infrastructure Definitions

Infrastructure Benchmark metrics include unit cost metrics and FTE efficiency metrics:

Unit cost metrics

Unit cost metrics for a supported sub-tower is calculated as follows = Total cost of the sub-tower divided by total volume.

For example: unit cost of servers = Total cost of all logical severs divided by total number of logical servers

FTE efficiency metrics

FTE efficiency metrics for a supported sub-tower is calculated as follows = Total volume of the sub-tower divided by total number of FTEs supporting to own, operate and maintain the sub-tower.

Both employees and contractors are counted as full-time equivalents (FTEs). One FTE represents 100% of a person’s working time. Part-time workers are counted as a fraction of an FTE. Infrastructure FTE efficiency benchmark metrics allow you to compare your staffing efficiencies with your peers.
