Dynamic sizing and positioning

Dynamic layout options control the size and position of report components. Size options adjust the size of components and container of the content. Position options control the placement of components in their container. The container can be an entire report, or a group box or a tabbed component. To apply these options, use the Dynamic menu on the Format tab.

The layout options can be applied to:
  • Tables
  • Charts
  • Group Boxes
  • Tabbed Components

Apply the options

To apply the options:
  1. Select the component.
  2. Open the Dynamic menu on the Format tab.
  3. Select one of the options.

Only one option can be applied to a component at any given time.

Option descriptions

Dynamic Off - Turns off dynamic sizing and positioning.
  • Center - Positions the component in the center of the report, group box, or tabbed component. The size of the component is not changed.

  • Center and Grow - Positions the center of the component in the center of the report, group box, or tabbed component. As you move the left edge of the component, it adjusts the right edge to keep the box centered.

  • Fill Right - Extends the component to the right border of the report, group box, or tabbed component.

  • Fill Right and Bottom - Extends the component to the right and bottom borders of the report, group box, or tabbed component.

  • Dock Right - Moves the component so the right edge is touching the right border of the report, group box, or tabbed component. The size of the component is not changed.

  • Dock Bottom - Moves the component so the bottom edge is touching the bottom of the report, group box, or tabbed component. The size of the component is not changed.
