Metafields in Costing Standard

Metafields give you flexibility in how you link various master data sets together (such as Cost Source to Fixed Assets, Cost Source to Labor, and Cost Source to Vendors).

Consider the Cost Source to Vendors relationship. A customer may use Sungard for two reasons – Disaster Recovery and Cloud. You should have two rows in the Vendors Master Data set for Sungard in this case since the rows will map to two different IT towers with different allocation percentages for each row. You can use the metafield to bring in two different reasons Sungard is a vendor to differentiate the rows when using the data-based reference allocation.

As another example, you could map cost center to the metafields which means you will have a unique list of vendors and cost centers to map.
