Use AWS PrivateLink to connect to services in your AWS Virtual Private Cloud
On a paid VPC hours plan, you can use AWS PrivateLink to connect App Connect Enterprise as a Service to a service that is running in your Amazon Web Services (AWS) Virtual Private Cloud. AWS PrivateLink connects to services on AWS without the use of public IP addresses or the internet. You can configure inbound and outbound AWS PrivateLink connections. The Switch server is also supported across the AWS PrivateLink connection so that you can use callable flows and port forwarding on the AWS private network. For more information, see Connecting to AWS services with AWS PrivateLink.
Disable public connections to your instance
By default, App Connect Enterprise as a Service allows connections over the public internet. You can now disable public connections for your instance on the Private network connections page. For example, if you disable public connections, no-one can call an API flow in your instance over the public internet. Disabling public connections doesn't affect private network connections.
The App Connect catalog is renamed and moved
The catalog of connectors and APIs that you can add to your event-driven and API flows is now in the Connect Icon that represents the Connect category in the navigation pane category of the navigation pane. The page is called Applications and APIs.

November 2024

The App Connect Designer home page and navigation are updated
  • A summary of your integration runtimes and deployed integrations is now shown on the App Connect Designer home page.
  • The Settings page is now called Instance settings The icon for the Instance settings page and contains AI controls for your instance.
  • A new Connect Icon that represents the Connect category in the navigation pane category in the navigation pane contains the Private networks, Callable flows, and Public API credentials pages.

October 2024

A new version is available for integration runtimes
Following the release of App Connect Enterprise 13.0, if you're on the VPC hours plan, you can now choose to upgrade your integration runtimes to version 13.0. If you're on the flow runs plan, your instance is updated automatically to version 13.0. For more information, see Upgrading to version 13.0. For details of features that are added in App Connect Enterprise 13.0, see What's new in Version 13.0 in the App Connect Enterprise documentation.
The rate limit for the API has increased
The rate limit for the App Connect Enterprise as a Service API has increased to 100 requests in a 5-minute period. For more information, see API for IBM App Connect Enterprise as a Service.

Monitor your deployed integrations
The Monitor page was previously available on the VPC hours plan to monitor memory and CPU usage for your runtimes. You can now also monitor the number of flow runs and the levels of latency for your deployed integrations on both the VPC hours and flow runs plans. For more information, see Monitoring resources.
The Apptio Targetprocess connector is renamed
The Apptio Targetprocess connector is renamed to IBM Targetprocess.

July 2024

Deploy integrations from the Manage page
If you're on the VPC hours plan, you deploy an integration by exporting it as a BAR file, then creating an integration runtime in the App Connect Dashboard to host your BAR file. You can now deploy integrations from the Manage page, without having to export event-driven or API flows to the Dashboard. You can also deploy event-driven and API flows from the flow editor and from the Designer dashboard page.
This new feature provides a more streamlined way to deploy your integrations and more flexibility in how you deploy. Users on the flow runs plan already use the Manage page to deploy integrations, so this feature provides a similar deployment experience for both plans.
Note: This new method of deployment is in development and is available alongside the existing deployment method while the new method is being developed.

For more information, see Deploying integrations from the Manage page.
