Connecting to Asana from IBM App Connect on IBM Cloud and App Connect Enterprise as a Service

In IBM® App Connect on IBM Cloud and App Connect Enterprise as a Service, you can connect to Asana with only an email address and password.

To connect App Connect to an Asana account that you want App Connect to use, you need the following connection details:
  • Email address: The email address used to log in to Asana.
  • Password: The password for the specified email address.
Remember: You can connect to Asana either from the App Connect Designer Catalog page, or when you add an app to a flow. For more information, see Connecting to applications and APIs.

To connect to Asana from the App Connect Designer Catalog page for the first time, under Asana click Connect. This creates an account in App Connect. For more information about ways to connect to Asana, see Managing accounts in App Connect.

Attention:
  • For creating an account in App Connect on IBM Cloud or App Connect Enterprise as a Service, you need to be logged in to Asana from the same browser window.
  • If you are already logged in to Asana in the same browser window as App Connect on IBM Cloud® or App Connect Enterprise as a Service, App Connect connects to that Asana account without prompting you for the email address and password. To connect to a different Asana account, log out of Asana first.
  • Every time you add an Asana account by using App Connect on IBM Cloud or App Connect Enterprise as a Service, you are asked to grant permission to access your account information. Click Allow to grant permission to your existing account, or click Not you? to change your account.

  • If you don't have an Asana account, you can create one to try Asana for free.

This creates an account in App Connect. For more information about ways to connect to Slack from App Connect on IBM Cloud, see Managing accounts in App Connect.

Tip:

Before you use the account that is created in App Connect in a flow, rename the account to something meaningful that helps you to identify it. To rename the account on the Catalog page, select the account, open its options menu (⋮), then click Rename Account.
