Exporting a flow

Export your flow from IBM App Connect Enterprise Designer.

Before you begin

Start IBM App Connect Enterprise Designer by running the Designer command as described in Starting IBM App Connect Enterprise Designer by running the Designer command.

Create an event-driven flow as described in Creating an event-driven flow.

Test your flow as described in Testing a flow.

About this task

If you plan to deploy your flow to an integration server or distribute it to other users, you can export it from IBM App Connect Enterprise Designer into your browser's default download directory.

Procedure

Export a flow by completing the following steps:

  1. In the sidebar navigation menu, click Designer to open the Designer page.
    Any flows that you created before are displayed.
  2. In the tile for the flow that you want to export, click Options.
    The Export flow wizard opens.
  3. Select one of the following options:
    • If you plan to deploy your flow to an integration server, select Runtime flow asset (BAR).
    • If you want to distribute your flow to other users, select Design-time flow asset (YAML).
  4. Click Export.
    The flow is exported to your browser's default download directory.

What to do next

After you create, test, and export a flow from IBM App Connect Enterprise Designer, it is available for deployment or redistribution to other users. For more information about deployment, see Deploying integration solutions.
