Updating a data source

The update data source option is enabled whenever the data source properties are updated.

1. Navigate to Manufacturing Perspective > DataSources from a manufacturing node.
2. Select the data source for the properties that need to be updated.
3. Update the required data source properties values from the Data Source Properties view.
   • All the data source properties are editable except for the following:
     • DataSource Kind

       You cannot edit this property. The default value is OPCUA.

     • Server URL

       You cannot edit this property. You can update only the server URL if a client item has not been mapped or unmap an existing client item.

4. Click Update Data Source to update the data source configuration values.

   You can see the data source activity in the Logging view.

5. Update the message flow if the data source is mapped with any of the client items and are used in the message flow.
   1. Navigate to Integration Development perceptive.
   2. Open the message flow that includes the nodes that are connected to the selected data source as mentioned in step 2.
   3. Select the manufacturing node that connects to the selected data source.

      This enables the Update DS for the node.

   4. Click Update DS.

      A pop-up notification confirms that the data source is updated successfully.

      Note: If you have the same client item mapped to multiple manufacturing nodes, you need to click on the manufacturing node individually and click Update DS to save the data source properties changes.
   5. Click Save from the Integration Development perspective to save the changes on the message flow.

      The changes to the data source properties are now saved in the database or JSON file, and the message flow.
