Get started with IBM App Connect Enterprise

You can get started without prior knowledge of IBM® App Connect Enterprise or integration, and you can choose how you want to get going from a variety of resources.

What to do if you don't have App Connect Enterprise

To get started with integration solutions in your own installation of App Connect Enterprise, you can download IBM App Connect Enterprise Evaluation Edition (previously known as App Connect Enterprise for Developers or Developer Edition) without charge. Download and install the software, then create and deploy your first integration solution, all in a few steps.

Watch the Getting started video, which demonstrates how to get started with using IBM App Connect Enterprise 13.0. The video gives an overview of the App Connect Enterprise Toolkit development environment, the Command Console, and the web user interface. It also introduces Designer, which has been available for some time as an App Connect Enterprise as a Service offering and is now also provided for use with IBM App Connect Enterprise 13.0.

The video also introduces some of the other new features in IBM App Connect Enterprise 13.0, including the Patterns Gallery, and enhancements to the App Connect Enterprise Toolkit, such as the ability to manage credentials in an App Connect Enterprise vault and the ability to connect to or disconnect from a running integration node or server.

Want to get going quickly but still be guided?

This course provides guided learning about the essential features of App Connect Enterprise software, and how to build a hybrid integration solution with the App Connect Enterprise Toolkit and Designer. This course includes exercises with event-driven flows in App Connect Enterprise as a Service in the hybrid integration solution that is based on callable flows between App Connect Enterprise as a Service and on-premises message flows.

You can find two versions of the course in the IBM Skills Gateway, both with lab exercises. One course is free and is based on downloading IBM App Connect Enterprise Evaluation Edition, and the other course has a cost that includes a VM image for labs.
