XA coordination on a system with multiple IBM MQ installations
Highlights restrictions where multiple installations of IBM® MQ are using XA coordination through ODBC.
IBM App Connect Enterprise supports multiple installed versions of IBM MQ but has a restriction on Linux® and UNIX systems when two or more of these installations are using XA coordination through ODBC.
On Linux and UNIX systems, the mqsimanagexalinks command creates links in the IBM MQ default location for 64-bit exits and switch load files: /var/mqm/exits64
Do not use the installation-specific sub directory of the exits64 path for the database switch load files when using ODBC. This imposes the following restrictions on Linux and UNIX systems:
- Multiple installations of IBM MQ on the same system that are to act as transaction managers for integration nodes that use ODBC, must all use the same database switch load files from the default exits64 path.
- The ODBC database switch file links created in the default exits64 path must all belong to the same version of IBM App Connect Enterprise.
