Configuring API product recommendations

Enable the API product recommendations setting in the Developer Portal to display product recommendations to the API product consumers.

Before you begin

You must have administrator access to the Developer Portal to complete this task.
Note: This module synchronizes the credentials of applications that are created by consumers in the Developer Portal site UI. It cannot synchronize the credentials for applications that are created by the provider in the API Manager UI.

About this topic

You can enable the API product recommendations setting in your Developer Portal site to display the API product recommendations block on the API Products page and the Summary tab for the Subscription wizard. This block suggests API products to the consumers based on their current subscription plan and browsing history.

Enable API product recommendations

Complete the following steps to enable the API product recommendations setting in the Developer Portal:

  1. Log in to the Developer Portal as an administrator.
  2. Click Configuration > System > IBM API Developer Portal.
  3. In the Products section, select the Enable API Product Recommendations checkbox.

  4. From the API product count recommendation count box, select a value based on the number of recommendations that you want to display to the user.
  5. Click Save configuration to save the changes. The API Products page and the Summary tab of the subscription wizard on the Developer Portal displays the API product recommendations block.

Disable API product recommendations

Complete the following steps to disable the API product recommendations setting in the Developer Portal:
  1. Repeat steps 1 and 2.
  2. In the Products section, clear the Enable API Product Recommendations checkbox.

  3. Click Save configuration to save the changes. The API product recommendations block is removed from the API Products page and the Summary tab of the subscription wizard on the Developer Portal.
Note:
  • The API product recommendations setting is enabled by default in the Developer Portal.
  • The API product recommendations block is displayed on the API Products page and the Summary tab for the Subscription wizard of the Developer Portal only if you satisfy the following conditions:
    • The API product must have at least one subscription.
    • The application that is subscribed to the API product must be subscribed to at least one another API product.
You successfully configured the API product recommendations settings in the Developer Portal.
