Testing the API rate limit

Before you begin

Make sure that Postman is installed in your system, or you can use the web version of Postman.

Procedure

  1. Call the API for more than five times by using a REST client. In this example, the API is called for more than five times. You now notice the change in API response before the rate limit is reached and after the rate limit is reached.
  2. Go to the API analytics page.
  3. View the bar graph plotted for the violation events for the Last 15 minutes.
  4. View the Runtime events section to view the alert message that you provided during policy configuration.
