Creating API projects

As a new user, you can create a new API project to develop and manage APIs, policies, tests, assertions, and other related resources.

Procedure

  1. Click New API project > Create a new project on the home page.
The Create a new project screen appears.
  2. Provide the project details.
    • Project name. Enter a name for your project.
    • Description. Add a brief summary or purpose of the project.
    • Tags. Add relevant tags to categorize or identify the project easily.
  3. Choose the storage location for the project.
    • Native storage. No configuration required.
Note: This option is not available in the desktop app.
    • Repository. Select a repository you have already configured. After you select a repository, choose the relevant Branch. If you don’t see any repositories, configure a repository before continuing. For more information, see Configuring version control system.
    • Local storage. Select a local directory you have already configured. If you don’t see any local directories, configure and enable access to your projects folder first. For more information, see Configuring projects folder.
Note: Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge support the Local directory option. Other browsers disable this option and restrict file or folder selection, limiting access to existing APIs and projects.
  4. Click Create.

The API project is created and displayed on the home page. You can start working on your APIs and policies within the project.
