Migrating certificates to IBM Cloud Secrets Manager

If you previously managed certificates for your self-managed gateway with IBM Cloud Certificate Manager and want to manage them with IBM Cloud Secrets Manager, you can migrate the certificates to IBM Cloud Secrets Manager.

About this task

API Connect V12 Reserved requires you to secure the gateway using IBM Cloud Secrets Manager or the certificate manager that is included in API Connect. For more information on managing certificates with IBM Cloud Secrets Manager, see Getting Started with Secrets Manager in the IBM Cloud documentation.

1. Provision an instance of IBM Cloud Secrets Manager.

   For information on provisioning Secrets Manager, see Creating a Secrets Manager service instance in the Secrets Manager documentation.

2. Migrate certificates from Certificates Manager to Secrets Manager.

   Use one of the following methods:

   • Complete the steps described in Migrating certificates from Certificate Manager, in the Secrets Manager documentation.
   • Manually import each certificate into Secrets Manager as explained in "Importing certificates" section of Adding SSL/TLS certificates in the Secrets Manager documentation.
3. Update your remote gateway using the certificates stored in Secrets Manager.

   Edit the gateway manually using the Edit Gateway page in the API Connect Reserved administration interface.
