Creating global policies in form view

Learn how to add policies globally to multiple APIs.

About this task

Note: This procedure applies only to the IBM® webMethods API Gateway.

Add a policy on a global level to enforce rules and manage API behavior for all the selected APIs.

Procedure

  1. From the Quick start page, click Add a global policy.
    The Create global policy pop-up window appears.
  2. Provide the following details:
    • Global policy name
    • Namespace
    • Version
    • Tags
  3. Click Create.
    The policy file is created, and the global policy configuration screen opens.
  4. In the API filtering criteria section, select one or more of these options to configure the API type:
    Select one or more of the following options:
    • REST
    • SOAP
    • ODATA
  5. Select one or more of these options to configure the Supported operations:
    • GET
    • PUT
    • POST
    • DELETE
    • PATCH
    • HEAD
  6. In the Filter attributes section, define the attributes to control where the global policy applies.
  7. Select the policy sequence to add the required policies.
