Configuring the local user registry for migration

Create and enable a local user registry in the Cloud Manager to support the migration of users, groups, and teams from webMethods API Gateway.

Before you begin

Before you begin, ensure that you have the following:

  • Access to IBM® API Connect Cloud Manager
  • Administrator privileges in the Cloud Manager
  • Access to the provider organization to which users are migrated.

About this task

To migrate users from webMethods API Gateway, you must first create a local user registry in Cloud Manager and enable it in the provider organization. This registry stores the migrated user accounts and their authentication credentials.

Procedure

Create the local user registry

  1. Log in to IBM API Connect Cloud Manager.
  2. Navigate to Resources > User Registries.
  3. Click Create.
  4. Select Local User Registry from the available options.
  5. In the Create Local User Registry page, configure the following settings:
    1. In the Title field, enter a descriptive name for the user registry.
Note: The Name field auto-populates the Title that you added in the slugified form. This name is used to identify the registry in the IBM API Connect Transition Helper configuration.
    2. In the Dsiaplay Name field, enter a unique identifier for the registry.
This identifier is used in API calls and configuration files.
    3. Configure any additional settings as required for your environment.
  6. Click Save to create the user registry.

Enable the user registry in the provider organization

  1. In the Cloud Manager, navigate to Settings > User Registries > API Manager.
  2. Locate the user registry that you created in the list of available registries. If the user registry is not listed, click Edit and select the checkbox next to the required user registry to add it to the list of available registries in API Manager.
  3. Select the checkbox next to the user registry to enable it.
  4. Click Save to apply the changes.

Results

The local user registry is created and enabled in the provider organization. The registry is now ready to receive migrated users from webMethods API Gateway.

What to do next
