Offloading analytics data to Kafka

Configure analytics to offload data to Kafka.

Before you begin

To configure the analytics data offload for Kafka, ensure that you have the following information about your Kafka instance:
  • Topic name
  • Kafka broker endpoints (at least one is required)
  • Credentials (username, password)

Procedure

  1. Log in to cloud admin console.
  2. In the welcome page, click Settings tile.
  3. Click Add destination.
  4. In the Add offload destination page, enter the following information.
    1. Name: Enter the offload name.
    2. Offload Type: Select Kafka.
    3. Topic: Enter the topic name.
    4. Broker Endpoints: Enter at least one broker endpoint url for the Kafka instance.
    5. Choose a sasl mechanism: Select the sals mechanism that is configured in your Kafka account.
    6. Username and Password: Enter Kafka instance username and password.
    7. Assigned provider organizations: Select provider organizations for offload the data.
      • To offload data from all the provider organizations, select Assign to all provider organizations.
      • To offload data from specific provider organizations, select Select specific provider organizations, then choose the organizations from the list.
    8. Fields to offload: Select fields to offload the data.
      • To offload data from all the fields, select Offload all fields.
      • To offload data from specific fields, select Select specific fields to offload.
      Note: Your selections in the offload fields apply to all existing offloads.
  5. Click Save and wait for 15–20 minutes for the offload to start.
    Note: After you save a new offload or edit an existing offload, wait until the offload reaches the running status before adding, editing, or deleting it. To view the latest status, refresh the settings page.
