Creating themes for customizing UI

The theme contains all information about the UI appearance and they determine the appearance of the UI. So, you create a theme, specify your changes, and apply it to customize the UI.

About this task

You can create a theme from scratch or clone one from an existing theme. You can have more than one theme and apply them according to your requirements. However, you can activate one theme at a time for a portal.

This use case starts when you want to create a theme for customizing your portal UI and ends when you successfully create the theme. In this example, you create a theme that is named Dark theme.

Procedure

  1. Expand the menu options, click Administration, and click Themes.
  2. Click Create theme.
    Click the clone icon Clone icon next to a theme to clone the theme, provide a theme name, and click Create.
  3. Provide Dark theme in the Name field.
  4. Provide 1.0 in the Version field.
  5. Click Create.
    The new theme appears in the Manage themes page.

What to do next

  • After you create a theme, you can perform the following steps.
    • Click the edit icon Edit icon next to the theme to edit it.
    • Click the customize icon Customize icon next to the theme to customize it.
    • Click the activate icon Activate icon next to the theme to apply the theme or You can customize and activate the theme to see the changes on the UI.
