Deleting a simple alias

Delete a simple alias from either catalog settings or space settings. Deleting a simple alias removes it from both the catalog and all associated spaces.

Before you begin

You must have catalog owner or administrator permissions to delete simple aliases.

About this task

You can delete a simple alias from either the catalog settings or space settings, regardless of where it was originally created.

Important: Deleting a simple alias removes it from both the catalog and all associated spaces. Ensure that the alias is not in use before deletion.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to either the catalog settings or space settings where the simple alias is visible:

    For catalog settings:

    1. Select the catalog where the simple alias is visible.
    2. Click the Catalog settings tab.
    3. Click Aliases.

    For space settings:

    1. Select the catalog where the simple alias is visible.
    2. Click the Spaces tab.
    3. Select the space and click the Settings tab.
    4. Click Aliases.
  2. Locate the simple alias that you want to delete in the list.
  3. Click the options icon options icon for the simple alias, and click Delete.
  4. A prompt appears asking you to confirm the action. Click Delete to delete the selected simple alias.

Results

The simple alias is removed from both catalog and space settings.
