Creating a simple alias at the space level

Create a simple alias at the space level to provide alternative names or references for webMethods services within a specific space. Simple aliases created at the space level are visible and manageable from both space and catalog settings.

Before you begin

Spaces must be enabled in the catalog. For information about enabling spaces, see Enabling Spaces in a Catalog.

You must have catalog owner or administrator permissions to create simple aliases.

About this task

Simple aliases created at the space level are automatically visible in the parent catalog settings, providing consistent management across your API management environment.

Procedure

  1. Log in to API Manager and click Manage icon Manage.
  2. Select the catalog that contains the space.
  3. Click the Spaces tab.
  4. Select the space where you want to create the simple alias.
  5. Click the Settings tab for the space.
  6. In the space settings navigation pane, click Aliases.
  7. Click Add > Simple alias.
  8. Enter the required information for the simple alias:
    • Name: Enter a unique name for the simple alias.
    • Value: Enter a value for your simple alias.
    • Summary: (Optional) Provide a summary for the alias.
  9. Click Create.
    The simple alias is created and is now visible in both the space settings and in the parent catalog settings.

Results

The simple alias is successfully created at the space level and is available for use in webMethods integrations. The alias is visible and can be managed from both space settings and the parent catalog settings.
