Federated API management 12.1.0.0 includes the following enhancements.

Product renaming

Renamed from API Control Plane to Federated API Management.

Added runtime support

API Management extends integration support beyond webMethods API Gateway, Developer Portal, Amazon API Gateway, and Azure API Management Service to include the following API Connect subsystems:
  • DataPower Gateway (V6)
  • DataPower Nano Gateway
  • CMS Portal
Security enhancements
  • Mutual TLS (mTLS) is now supported to ensure secure communication between Federated API Management and in-house runtime types.
  • All administrator REST APIs exposed by Federated API Management now require secure and authenticated communication.
  • Federated API Management now mandates HTTPS-only communication; HTTP access is not allowed.

Deployment improvements

Standalone agent deployment scripts for AWS and Azure now securely accept sensitive values such as API keys and passwords.

User experience improvements
  • Localization support has been introduced, enabling users to select their preferred UI language with localized content applied throughout the product.
  • Line chart exports are supported in CSV, JPG, and PNG formats.
