Configuring

By default, API Agent is disabled and must be enabled before you can use its capabilities. To enable API Agent, you need to first enable the IBM managed watsonx.ai. After enabling watsonx.ai, you need to configure API Agent.

Setup and enablement

API Agent is available to all SaaS customers on premium and standard subscriptions.

To streamline the experience, IBM manages various API Agent dependent services required for the API Agent functionality.

These include:

watsonx.ai IBM Cloud settings for use of Granite and Llama models required by the API Agent.
IBM Code Engine for deployment of applications.
IBM connector pack runtime for running deployed applications

All communication between Visual Studio Code plug-in, API Manager, IBM API Studio desktop version, and IBM® API Connect is secure and uses TLS protocol.
