Enabling billing feature on OpenShift and Cloud Pak for Integration

You can optionally configure monetization in API Connect on Red Hat OpenShift and IBM® Cloud Pak for Integration by enabling the billing feature.

About this task

API Connect includes a billing feature that allows API providers to define pricing plans in their API Products, and monetize their API offerings. If a Product contains a pricing plan, API Consumers must enter their payment information into the Developer Portal before they can subscribe to that plan.

Procedure

  • Enabling billing feature on Cloud Pak for Integration
    1. Log in to the Platform UI.
    2. Locate the instance for which you want to enable the billing feature.
    3. Click the options menu icon options icon alongside the required instance.
    4. Click Edit.
    5. Toggle the Advanced settings slider.
    6. Click Management subsystem.
    7. Locate the Billing option.
    8. Click the Enabled (optional) checkbox.
    9. Click Save.
  • Enabling billing feature on Red Hat OpenShift
    1. Log in to the Red Hat OpenShift web console.
    2. Click Installed operators.
    3. Locate the namespace (project) where you installed API Connect:
      • If you installed the API Connect operator in all namespaces, select openshift-operators
      • If you installed the API Connect operator in a single namespace, select specific project
    4. Select the API Connect Connect operator.
    5. Select all instances for an overview of all operands in your API Connect namespace.
    6. Locate the instance for which you want to enable the billing feature.
    7. Click the options menu icon options icon alongside the required instance.
    8. Click Edit.
    9. Click Advanced configuration.
    10. Click Management subsystem.
    11. Click Advanced configuration.
    12. Click Billing.
    13. Click the Enabled (optional) checkbox.
    14. Click Save.
