You can optionally configure monetization in API Connect on Red Hat
OpenShift and IBM® Cloud Pak for
Integration by enabling the billing feature.
About this task
API Connect includes a billing feature that allows API providers to define pricing plans in their
API Products, and monetize their API offerings. If a Product contains a pricing plan, API Consumers
must enter their payment information into the Developer Portal before they can subscribe to that
plan.
Procedure
- Enabling billing feature on Cloud Pak for Integration
- Log in to the Platform UI.
- Locate the instance for which you want to enable the billing feature.
- Click the options menu icon
alongside the required instance.
- Click Edit.
- Toggle the Advanced settings slider.
- Click Management subsystem.
- Locate the Billing option.
- Click the Enabled (optional) checkbox.
- Click Save.

- Log in to the Red Hat OpenShift web console.
- Click Installed operators.
- Locate the namespace (project) where you installed API Connect:
- If you installed the API Connect operator in all
namespaces, select openshift-operators
- If you installed the API Connect operator in a
single namespace, select specific project
- Select the API Connect Connect operator.
- Select all instances for an overview of all operands in your API Connect namespace.
- Locate the instance for which you want to enable the billing feature.
- Click the options menu icon
alongside the required instance.
- Click Edit.
- Click Advanced configuration.
- Click Management subsystem.
- Click Advanced configuration.
- Click Billing.
- Click the Enabled (optional) checkbox.
- Click Save.
