Prerequisite skills for administering API Connect on VMware

The background knowledge and skills that are required to install and manage an API Connect VMware deployment.

The following list provides an idea of the concepts and technologies that the API Connect administrator should be familiar with:

VMware: Deploying OVA files and taking VM snapshots.
Linux: File permissions, editing files with the vi editor, redirecting command output to file.
Network concepts: FQDNs, ports, firewalls.
TLS: CAs, certificate chains, mTLS.

The examples in this list do not include all background knowledge that is required, but are intended to give a general idea of the skills that are needed to plan, install, and maintain an API Connect deployment.
