AIX hardware and software requirements

The prerequisites that are required to install CCA.

Hardware

Install an IBM Power Systems server with an available 4767 PCIe cryptographic coprocessor.

During installation of the software, the driver interacts with the coprocessor to arbitrate interrupt settings, DMA channels, and other system resources. For installation instructions about the coprocessor hardware and device driver, see Obtaining coprocessor hardware and software.

Software

  1. IBM AIX Version 7.1 or AIX Version 7.2.
  2. Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.6.0, or later, that is required to run the CCA Node Management (CNM) utility.
  3. The software package csufx.4767 must be downloaded from the http://www.ibm.com/security/cryptocards/pciecc2/overview.shtml website. The software package contains the following filesets:
    • csufx.4767.cca - 4767 CCA Support Program
    • csufx.4767.com - 4767 Support Program - Common Utilities
    • csufx.4767.man - Support Program man pages
