Follow this procedure for defining an lpp_source on CD/DVD-ROM versus disk using SMIT.

  1. Mount the CD/DVD as a CDROM file system. The installation images can be found in the /usr/sys/inst.images directory under the mount point of the CDROM file system.
  2. To define the lpp_source using the directory of install images, enter the smit nim_mkres fast path.
  3. Specify the name of the machine with the CD/DVD-ROM as the Server.
  4. Specify CD_MountPoint/ usr/sys/inst.images as the location of the lpp_source, and leave the Source field blank.
