Configuring a print queue for a file in the /dev directory
You can configure a print queue for a file in the /dev directory.
- Read the documentation for your printer. You might need printer-specific information to connect and configure the printer.

- You must have root authority.
Use the following procedure if you want to configure a print queue for a file in the /dev directory.
- At the system prompt, type smit mkpq and then follow the instructions to complete the task.
- After the print queues are successfully created, their names are displayed. Be sure to note any error messages before you exit.
- Use the smit chpq command to customize the new print queue.
