Checking status

You can check whether IBM® Electronic Service Agent is monitoring your system.

You can use the IBM Electronic Service Agent graphical user interface to check the status of IBM Electronic Service Agent.

Tip: You can also use the esacli status command to display the status of the IBMElectronic Service Agent instance. For information, see esacli status.

To use the graphical user interface to check the status of IBM Electronic Service Agent, follow these steps:

Access and log on to the IBM Electronic Service Agent graphical user interface.
Note: If you cannot access the IBM Electronic Service Agent graphical user interface, log in to the system as root or sign on using a root-authorized user ID, and then enter the following command:
```
service esactl status
```
Running this command only displays whether IBM Electronic Service Agent is running on the system. The graphical user interface option displays additional information and gives you the option of either suspending or resuming IBM Electronic Service Agent. For more information, see Suspending and resuming Electronic Service Agent
Click Tools menu from left navigation.
Click Suspend/Resume tab.

The Display status panel is displayed. The Suspend/Resume panel shows whether IBM Electronic Service Agent is monitoring this system and shows the properties of the system or partition. From this panel, you can also suspend/resume IBM Electronic Service Agent.
