Integrated locking protocol

NFS version 4 includes support for advisory byte range file locking.

The Network Lock Manager (NLM) protocol and the associated rpc.lockd and rpc.statd daemons are not used. For better interoperability with non-UNIX operating systems, NFS version 4 also supports open share reservations and includes features to accommodate server platforms with mandatory locking.
