Graphical user interface
The BAS/EAL4+ compliant system includes the X Windows System as a graphical user interface.
X Windows provides a mechanism for displaying graphical clients, such as clocks, calculators, and other graphical applications, as well as multiple terminal sessions using the aixterm command. The X Windows System is started with the xinit command from the initial command line after a user has logged in at the host's console.
xinitThis command starts the X Windows server with local access mechanisms enabled for the invoker only. X Windows clients that are set-UID to root will be able to access the X Windows server via the UNIX domain socket using the root override on the access restrictions. X Windows clients that are set-UID to other users or that are started by other users will not be able to access the X Windows server. This restriction prevents other users of a host from gaining unauthorized access to the X Windows server.
