Sync set up
Sync is installed when you install your ; your license must enable Sync . Before using
Sync , prepare the file systems to synchronize and plan your replication strategy,
as described in the following sections.
Configuring Sync endpoints
Sync reads configuration settings from aspera.conf , which can be edited by using asconfigurator commands or manually. The following sections provide instructions for setting the best security configuration, instructions for how to edit other configurations, a reference for many of the available configuration options, and a sample aspera.conf .
Viewing Sync transfers in the Aspera GUI
The HSTE GUI shows async -initiated transfers if Sync is run on the machine (as client) by default, whereas server async transfers are not shown.

The Sync database
Each async session creates a database (snap.db ) that is stored on both the local (client) computer and the remote (server) computer. The database records the state of the file system at the end of the last async session, and the next time the session is run. The file system is compared to the database to identify changes.
