Upgrading

Learn how to upgrade IBM Application Discovery and Delivery Intelligence for IBM Z to the latest version.

Important: Java 17.0.9 is the minimum required version. Make sure it is installed before continuing.
Important: If IBM ADDI is currently set up with HTTPS and certificates, you must manually switch it to HTTP  (instead of HTTPS) before you start the upgrade. After the server is upgraded, you must revert the configuration back to HTTPS. After IBM ADDI is running with HTTP, you can proceed with the upgrade process. To configure IBM ADDI to run over HTTP instead of HTTPS, select the Launch IBM Application Discovery Configuration Service Admin browser shortcut, then navigate to Configure > Environments > Default (or your customized environment name) > Servers and security > Security > select HTTP under Protocol type > Save.
Important: When the upgrade and configuration of IBM® Application Discovery and Delivery Intelligence for IBM Z® to the latest version is complete, make sure to reactivate the full functionality of IBM ADDI by using the latest Activation Kit available on Passport Advantage®. For more information, see Activating the full functionality of IBM ADDI from a free version.
