What's new in App Connect
Find out about updates in the App Connect capability of IBM® webMethods Hybrid Integration.
App Connect is part of a managed service and the IBM product team updates it regularly with security and bug fixes and new features. For a list of new features in webMethods Hybrid Integration, see What's new in webMethods Hybrid Integration.
For a list of the currently known limitations for App Connect, see Known limitations.
April 2026
- Troubleshoot private network connectivity
- Flows in App Connect can connect to endpoints in private networks
by using a switch server and secure agents. You can use the new Switch server
page to diagnose issues with private network connections through the switch server. The
Switch server page lists the endpoints and listeners that are registered with
the switch server in your instance. You can use this page to test connections, verify endpoint and
listener information, and collect trace data.
For more information, see Troubleshooting private network connectivity.
- A new version is available for integration runtimes
- Version 13.0.7 is now available for integration runtimes. For more information, see Updating the version of your integration runtime. For details of features that are added in App Connect Enterprise modification release 13.0.6, see New functions added in Version 13.0 modification packs in the App Connect Enterprise documentation.
March 2026
- Download BAR files
- You can now download BAR files from the BAR files tab of the
Manage page in App Connect. Open the
Actions menu
for a BAR file and click
Download BAR.
- Some connectors are deprecated
- The following connectors are deprecated because they will be removed in the future.
- Domino
- Siemens Teamcenter SLM
February 2026
- Manage resources in remote instances of IBM App Connect in containers
-
You can now manage runtimes, configurations, and BAR files in remote App Connect in containers deployments directly from App Connect in webMethods Hybrid Integration. By connecting to your containers instance through the switch server, you can view and manage all your container-based integration runtimes alongside your other deployment locations in one place. Changes to runtimes, configurations, and BAR files are synchronized bidirectionally between the local and remote environments.
For more information, see Managing remote runtimes.
- Management of
Policy projectandserver.conf.yamlconfigurations is enhanced - You can now create and modify
Policy projectandserver.conf.yamlconfigurations by using configuration builders in App Connect. The builders provide field-level guidance and available options to help you to build your configurations from scratch. The builders offer an alternative to using the App Connect Enterprise Toolkit to create and compress files to import into App Connect. For more information, see Creating a Policy project configuration or Creating a server.conf.yaml configuration.
January 2026
- The Dashboard page is renamed
- The page that you use to create and manage event-driven and API flows in App Connect is now the Design page
. For more information about managing flows on the
Design page, see Managing flows during development.
- A new version is available for integration runtimes
- Version 13.0.6 is now available for integration runtimes. For more information, see Updating the version of your integration runtime. For details of features that are added in App Connect Enterprise modification release 13.0.6, see New functions added in Version 13.0 modification packs in the App Connect Enterprise documentation.
- More connectors are available
- The following connectors are now available on the Applications and APIs page.
December 2025
- Use AWS PrivateLink to connect to services in your AWS Virtual Private Cloud
- You can now configure webMethods Hybrid Integration to access private networks that are running in your AWS account by using AWS PrivateLink. AWS PrivateLink connects App Connect to your Virtual Private Cloud in AWS without the use of public IP addresses or the internet. For more information, see Connecting to AWS services with AWS PrivateLink.
November 2025
- View statistics for runtime replicas
- If your integration runtime has multiple replicas, you can now view the data for a specific replica. For more information, see Viewing details about deployed runtimes and integrations.
October 2025
- A new version is available for integration runtimes
- If you control the modification release version of your integration runtimes, you can now update them to version 13.0.5. For more information, see Updating the version of your integration runtime. For details of features that are added in App Connect Enterprise modification release 13.0.5, see New functions added in Version 13.0 modification packs in the App Connect Enterprise documentation.
- Synchronize BAR files during deployment
- To maintain consistency between hosted and remote environments, you are now notified when different versions of a BAR file are deployed to different deployment locations. If you choose to synchronize the BAR files, the BAR file in the remote location is replaced with the BAR file in the default deployment location. For more information, see BAR file synchronization.
- More connectors are available
- The following connectors are now available on the Applications and APIs page.
September 2025
Record and replay
is supported- To assist with troubleshooting or auditing, you can now use record and replay in App Connect. You can view messages that pass through configured App Connect Enterprise message flows, then replay selected messages to an IBM MQ queue. For more information, see Replaying recorded messages (record and replay).
- More connectors are available
- The following connectors are now available on the Applications and APIs page.
- The Templates gallery is renamed
- The gallery of templates that you can use to accelerate the creation of event-driven flows is
now the Discover page
. For more information about how to use templates to create a flow, see Creating a flow from a template.
July 2025
- Start and stop applications in deployed runtimes on the Manage page
- Previously, to stop a runtime, you had to delete it or edit it to set the number of replicas to
zero. To stop an application, REST API, or service that was deployed to your runtime, you had to
edit the application, then redeploy the BAR file. This administrative task is now streamlined so
that you can stop and start a runtime, or a resource that is deployed to the runtime, on the
Manage page.
For more information, see Stopping and starting applications in deployed runtimes.
