Platform IPL sequence
This topic provides information about the steps for initial program load.
The IPL consists of the following
steps:
- Service processor's performing power-on tests and loading the system processor
- Platform Licensed Internal Code initialization
- If the system is partitioned, platform Licensed Internal Code loads the partition's SLIC code
- Licensed Internal Code (system) initialization
- Installing or starting the operating system program
