When connecting theProtecTIER® server on a site which is remotely connected to the sites where the hosts are located, all backup traffic is transmitted through a router (or routers) that connects between the sites.
The routers (or routers) can be connected to the network via a single interface, or multiple interfaces in a teaming configuration.
