3090 Drive firmware download is cancelled by user or system, problem diagnosis required.

Explanation

The drive firmware download was cancelled by the user or the system and diagnosis of the problem is needed.

User response

If you cancelled the download by using the applydrivesoftware -cancel command, then this error is expected to occur.

If you changed the state of any drive while the download is ongoing, this error is expected to occur. However, you must rerun the applydrivesoftware command to ensure that all drive firmware is updated.

Otherwise, complete the following steps:

  1. Check the drive states by using the lsdrive command. In particular, look at drives where the status is degraded, offline or the use is failed.
  2. Check node states by using the lsnode or lsnodecanister commands, and confirm that all nodes are online.
  3. Use lsdependentvdisks -drive <drive_id> to check for volumes that depend on specific drives.
  4. For systems that support RAID0 arrays, if the drive is a member of a RAID0 array, consider whether to introduce more redundancies to protect the data on that drive.
  5. If the drive is not a member of a RAID0 array, fix any errors in the event log that relate to the array.
  6. Consider specifying the applydrivesoftware -force option. With any drive software upgrade, there is a risk that the drive might become unusable. See the applydrivesoftware command documentation for the -force option. Use the -force option only if you accept this risk.
  7. If download was triggered automatically without issuing the applydrivesoftware command or by using the applydrivesoftware -local option, use the applydrivesoftware -local option to retry the download.
  8. Otherwise, retry download with the applydrivesoftware -file option.
Note: The lsdriveupgradeprogress command can be used to check the progress of the applydrivesoftware command as it updates each drive.
