Completing system setup for Amazon Web Services installation

Complete the system setup for your AWS installation in the management GUI.

To use the management GUI with your AWS installation, enable IP forwarding on the bastion host. For more information, see Enabling access to the management GUI.

  1. Access the management GUI from a browser. Type the address in the following format:
    https:∕∕bastion-publicIP:8443
    Where publicIP is the public IP address of the bastion machine.
  2. Log in with the password that you specified in the GUI Configuration section when you used the CloudFormation template to install the software .
  3. Click Agree on the License Agreement page.
  4. Click Next on the Welcome page.
  5. On the Change Password page, change the password. Click Apply and Next.
  6. On the System Name page, enter a name for the . Click Apply and Next.
  7. On the Licensed Functions page in the External Virtualization field, enter the total number of terabytes (TB) that are specified by your license. Click Apply and Next.
  8. On the Date and Time page, you do not need to set date and time management method, since that function is controlled on the cloud environment. However, select (GMT) UTC +under Time Zone to simplify troubleshooting across multiple time zones. Click Apply and Next.
  9. IBM Storage Virtualize for Public Cloud software is preconfigured with Call Home with cloud services and uses the bastion host as a gateway. The system setup wizard automatically verifies the connection to support and loads the System Location with the information about your instances. Click Next.
  10. On the Contact page, enter the details for the contact person who support personnel can contact to resolve issues on the system. Click Next.
  11. On the Storage Insights page, enter information to sign up for IBM Storage Insights or skip set up.
  12. If you plan on using remote support assistance with your configuration, select I want support personnel to access my system both on-site and remotely on the Support Assistance page. Click Next. Remote support assistance requires that a remote proxy service is installed and configured on the bastion host in your configuration.

  13. On the Support Centers page, enter the IP address for the bastion host where you installed the remote proxy server.
  14. On the Summary page, verify the system settings. Click Finish.
  15. After system setup completes, verify that the nodes within the cluster are active by selecting Monitoring > System
