Starting and stopping the snmpd daemon

This topic describes how to start and stop the Net-SNMP master agent, the snmpd daemon.

Before starting the IBM Spectrum Archive Enterprise Edition, it is necessary to start the snmpd daemon on the node where the multi-tape management module (MMM) service is to be started.

To start the snmpd daemon, issue the following command:

systemctl start snmpd.service

To stop the snmpd daemon, issue the following command:

systemctl stop snmpd.service

To restart the snmpd daemon, issue the following command:

systemctl restart snmpd.service
