Creating a remote mapping for a role

You can map a DS8000® role to a user or group that is managed by a remote authentication server.

About this task

Use these steps to map a role by using the Roles page on the Access tab. You can also map a role by using the Remote Authentication page on the Security tab.
  • The Configure Remote Authentication wizard.
  • The Modify Remote Mappings window in the Roles page on the Access tab, which is available by right-clicking a role on the Roles page and clicking Modify Remote Mappings.

Procedure

  1. Click Settings > Access. On the Roles page, select Remote Authentication.
  2. In the Remote Authentication Mappings section, click Add Remote Mapping. The Create Authentication Mapping page is displayed.
  3. Select the DS8000 role that you want to map.
  4. Select whether to map the role to a user or group on the remote authentication server.
  5. Enter the user or group name.
  6. Click Add to finalize the mapping.
