Supported add-on features and integrations

The following add-on features and integrations products are only available for IBM® Spectrum Symphony Standard and Advanced editions, and only on the indicated operating systems.

IBM Spectrum Symphony Desktop Harvesting and IBM Spectrum Symphony Server and VM Harvesting add-on features

Supports harvesting of non-dedicated systems, including desktop, server and VMs.
IBM Spectrum Symphony Server and VM Harvesting support is available for clusters with Windows or Linux® primary hosts. IBM Spectrum Symphony Server and VM Harvesting is supported on these systems:
  • VMware ESXi 5.5 with vCenter 5.5 and ESXi 6.0 with vCenter 6.0
  • Citrix XenServer 5.5 and 6.5

IBM Spectrum Symphony GPU Harvesting add-on feature

Supports GPU applications on Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Linux on POWER® compute hosts in clusters with any supported Windows, Linux, and Linux on POWER primary hosts.
  • Supported GPU compute capability levels: 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.0, or later
  • Supported CUDA APIs:
    • Windows: CUDA 6.0, 6.5, 7.0, 7.5, 8.0, 9.2, and 10.1
    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4 and later: CUDA 6.0, 6.5, 7.0, 7.5, 8.0, 9.1, and 10.2
    • POWER8 LE with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2 and 7.6: CUDA 7.0,7.5, 8.0, 9.1, and 10.1
    • POWER9 LE with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.5: CUDA 9.2

IBM Spectrum Symphony Co-Processor Harvesting add-on feature

Supports Intel Xeon Phi devices to be used as resources in an IBM Spectrum Symphony cluster in native mode. IBM Spectrum Symphony supports MPSS version 3.5.2 for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.6 64-bit operating systems.

IBM Spectrum Symphony connector for Microsoft Excel integration

Supported on Microsoft Excel 2007 and 2010 32-bit editions.

IBM Spectrum Symphony connector for MATLAB integration

Supports MATLAB on Windows and Linux systems:
  • Windows 32- and 64-bit systems: Windows 2012: MATLAB 32-bit 2013a and MATLAB 64-bit 2013a
  • Linux systems:
    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4 or later: MATLAB 64-bit 2011a, and MATLAB 64-bit 2015b
    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.1: MATLAB 64-bit 2015b

Open source R integration

Supports R 2.14.2 and R 3.2.2 on 64-bit Linux.

Supports R 3.4.3 on 64-bit Linux and Linux on POWER.
