Ports and protocol support

Learn about the ports that are used by IBM® Spectrum Conductor and the protocols that are used by EGO.

Summary of ports used by IBM Spectrum Conductor
Ports that are used by IBM Spectrum Conductor are defined with the base port at installation.
Connection ports and base port
On every host, a set of connection ports must be free for use by EGO components.
Web server port
Each web server requires exclusive use of one communication port. By default, web server communication is enabled over SSL.
Web service gateway port
EGO requires exclusive use of a communication port on the web service gateway. By default, EGO uses port 9090.
Service director port
EGO requires exclusive use of port 53 for the service director. This value cannot be changed.
Service controller port
Port 7872 is automatically assigned to the EGO service controller during installation.
Changing the base connection port
You can change the base connection port after installation.
Changing the repository server service port
You can change the repository server (RS) service port after installation.
IPv6 support
EGO supports IPv6. Among other benefits of IPv6, longer address lengths (128 bit) result in increased address availability for networked devices, which allows you to allocate addresses in large blocks.
