Adding packages to the Service Packages repository

If you do not upload packages while creating an instance group, you must manually add the packages to the Service Packages repository.

Before you begin

  • You must be a cluster administrator or have the Application Package Control permission to add a package to the repository.
  • The package to be added to the repository must be ready for upload. For information on creating packages, see Creating dependent packages.

About this task

Follow these steps to upload a dependent package to the repository. You cannot use this process to upload notebook packages. Packages are associated with a notebook when you add the notebook to the cluster. These notebook packages are uploaded to the repository when creating or modifying the instance group to which the notebook is associated.

Procedure

  1. From the cluster management console, select Resources > Service Packages > Service Packages.
  2. From the consumer list, select the consumer that you want to associate with your package.
  3. Select Global Actions > Add package to repository.
  4. In the wizard, select the package to add and optionally specify a package name.

If you want to deploy with a short consumer name, note that while the wizard makes the option available for you, IBM® Spectrum Conductor does not support deploying with a short consumer name.

  5. Click Add.
  6. Repeat for all the packages that you want to add.

What to do next

On the Service Packages page, you can view dependencies for a selected package or remove the packages that you added. After adding the required packages to the repository, you can create your instance group.
