Follow these steps to configure your cluster to provision compute hosts from IBM Cloud (previously SoftLayer®).

Setting up an IBM Cloud account
Create and set up an IBM Cloud account to burst IBM Spectrum Conductor workload to IBM Cloud. This topic provides a high-level guidance to what you need to set up an IBM Cloud account; for detailed steps, refer to your IBM Cloud documentation.
Creating a custom image in IBM Cloud
Optionally, create a custom image template in IBM Cloud with the base OS and IBM Spectrum Conductor installed. IBM Cloud computing instances are provisioned using this image template, significantly reducing the time it takes to provision a compute host from the cloud.
Configuring the sample post-provisioning script for IBM Cloud
Customize compute hosts that are provisioned from the cloud service provider by using post-provisioning scripts. IBM Spectrum Conductor provides sample scripts that you can use with minimal configuration.
Configuring the IBM Cloud provider instance
Configure the IBM Cloud provider instance to provide account information and to define host templates that map your cluster's resource demands to IBM Cloud hosts.
