To install, configure, and test the configuration of the Taskmaster Fingerprint Service
in a IBM® Datacap
Taskmaster Capture environment,
you first must ensure that certain requirements are met.
Before you install the Fingerprint Service, ensure that the following
conditions are met:
- All of the applications that you want the Fingerprint Service
to support are installed, configured, and run successfully without
the Fingerprint Service.
- The environment in which these applications run is an environment
where the Workstation and Server are separate machines.
- You are adding a server (FPServer) to host the Taskmaster Fingerprint Service
to this environment.
The scenario includes computers in the following configuration:
- A Windows Server 2008
hosts the Taskmaster Server,
application files, batch files, and databases.
- A Windows Server 2008
FPServer hosts Microsoft Internet Information
Services (IIS) and the Taskmaster Fingerprint
Service.
- At least one DevWorkstation hosts the complete Taskmaster Client software component,
including Datacap Studio.
Before you begin installing the Fingerprint Service, ensure:
- You have a working IBM Datacap
Taskmaster Capture 8.1
or later client/server environment.
- At a minimum, ensure that Taskmaster runs correctly in
a client/server environment where the application files are on the Taskmaster Server and the application
runs correctly from a workstation. This step makes troubleshooting
easier, and narrows down the sources of potential problems.
- If you want the Taskmaster Fingerprint
Service to cache fingerprints from two or more IBM Datacap
Taskmaster Capture applications, ensure
that those applications are working. In addition, ensure that you
manually processed batches from start to finish.
- When you install on client and server computers, ensure that you
have administrator access to all computers on which IBM Datacap
Taskmaster Capture software is installed. In
addition, ensure that you have administrator access to the servers
that are running Windows Server
2008 on which you intend to install the Taskmaster Fingerprint Service.
