Removal of support for BigFix entitlement

IBM has removed entitlement for IBM BigFix from the following models of IBM Cloud Pak System:
  • IBM Cloud Pak System Software
  • IBM Cloud Pak System Software Suite
  • Firmware for IBM PureApplication System W2500
  • Firmware for IBM Cloud Pak System W3500, W3550, and W4600
IBM BigFix has been deprecated and replaced by HCL BigFix. HCL BigFix will functionally replace IBM BigFix with clients directly acquiring entitlement from HCL. With entitlement of HCL BigFix, the products will require the upload of the HCL BigFix binary to maintain functionality provided by IBM BigFix. For more information, see BigFix procurement.

Support for IBM Cloud Pak System Software on x86

In IBM Cloud Pak System Version 2.3.3, support is available only for the new installation of IBM Cloud Pak System Software Version 2.3.3 and not for upgrade from any of the earlier versions to Version 2.3.3.

The support to upgrade IBM Cloud Pak System Software will be provided in a future release of the product.

Support for IBM Cloud Pak System Software Bring Your Own Hardware (BYOH) on Power only

Support end date for IBM Cloud Pak System Software Bring Your Own Hardware (BYOH) on Power systems is December 2023. You can run only on the IBM Cloud Pak System appliance that is Intel-based. For more information, see Deprecated functions and replacements.

Support for Hosted VMware environments

Hosted VMware environments are deprecated in Version 2.3.3. They are still fully supported for compatibility with earlier versions. However, they are no longer enhanced and must be avoided for new deployments from Version 2.3.3 or later.

Support for Power

IBM Cloud Pak System 2.3.3.0 supports Intel-based system models only. Power-based system models are not supported.

IBM Tivoli Monitoring Agent 6.23.x support

IBM Tivoli Monitoring Agent 6.23.05.00 is installed when a new Virtual System Pattern with AIX OS 7.1 or AIX OS 7.2 is deployed in IBM Cloud Pak System. Though there is no impact to the pattern instance, support for IBM Tivoli Monitoring Agent 6.23.x is unavailable from IBM Cloud Pak System 2.3.2.0. Contact IBM Support team to migrate IBM Tivoli Monitoring Agent to 6.3.x on those deployed virtual system instances.

Support for Cloud Paks menu

Starting from Version 2.3.3.0, the IBM Cloud Pak System user interface includes the Cloud Pak accelerator deployments, and the System management user interface no longer include the relevant menus. For more information, see Working with IBM Cloud Pak System user interface.

IBM Knowledge Center help link in the Instance Console user interface page

Starting from 2.3.3.0, the System management user interface does not include the Knowledge Center help link in the Instance Console page.

Pattern support

Starting from 2.3.3.0, the following patterns are removed and are no longer available:
  • IBM Common Services on OpenShift® Container Platform Pattern
  • IBM Cloud Automation Manager Pattern
  • IBM Common Services Pattern
