Changing the monitoring source in several charts

You can update the monitoring source for one or more charts in a dashboard at the same time. This bulk edit capability helps you switch to a new or updated monitoring source without manually editing each chart.

About this task

Bulk edit is available regardless of the number of charts in the dashboard. Only monitoring sources that are already associated with charts appear in the list.

Procedure

  1. Open the dashboard.
  2. Click Edit detailsEdit details.
  3. Under Monitoring sources used in charts, click Bulk edit.
  4. For each monitoring source listed, select a replacement from the drop-down list.
  5. Click Done, and then save the dashboard.

Results

All charts that used the previous monitoring source now use the new one. Existing chart configurations, including drill-down layers, are preserved as long as the selected monitoring source provides compatible fields that are required by the chart.
