Building and managing decision services with the Decision Assistant

You interact with the Decision Assistant through a chat interface to build and manage decision services. The assistant offers a multi-turn conversational interface for iterative development. You can also use the build mode to generate complete decision services based on business policies.

The Decision Assistant supports iterative interactions where you can create and update decision services through natural language requests. The Decision Assistant maintains context across multiple exchanges, allowing you to refine and expand your decision services conversationally.

The Decision Assistant provides the following key capabilities:

Build decision services	Create decision services and add decision artifacts: Create decision automations. Create empty decision services within automations. Import sample decision services into automations. Create decision models and define their structure. Create data models and define composite types.
Define decision logic	Create business rules and decision tables within decision models.

You can also use the Decision Assistant in Build mode. The Build mode provides a structured workflow for generating complete decision services based on business policies. It creates decision services that include a data model and either a decision model or a task model. Decision services with decision models can be refined in Decision Intelligence, while decision services with task models can be exported to IBM Operational Decision Manager.

Accessing the Decision Assistant

You open the Decision Assistant by using one of the following options:

Click Open the Decision Assistant from the Decision Intelligence home page.
Open the side navigation menu and click Decision Assistant.
Click the AI launch icon in the toolbar at the top of the page.
