The following topics describes the various library events and how to resolve them.

000E - Cartridge had a mechanical failure. The cartridge was not unloaded
The tape drive reported that a tape cartridge has a mechanical failure and that the tape cartridge could not be ejected. This could be caused by a damaged or faulty tape cartridge. This fix procedure describes how to remove the cartridge from the drive and correct the issue.
0038 - Cartridge could not be unloaded
A tape cartridge could not be ejected from a tape drive. This could be caused by a damaged tape cartridge or a fault in the tape drive. This fix procedure describes how to remove the cartridge from the drive and correct the issue.
0332 - Accessor column straightness check failed
During the calibration of a frame column the robotic accessor found that the frame column is not straight. This could be caused by a bent or damaged frame, or possibly debris causing a mis-read of the calibration targets during the calibration process. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and correct the issue.
2129 - An LCC communication with Accessor RCC card failed
Communication between the LCC card in the electronics tray and the RCC card on the robotic accessor failed. This could be caused by a disconnected cable between the LCC and RCC or faulty LCC or RCC cards. This fix procedure describes the full communication path between these cards as well as how to diagnose and correct the issue.
302B - Front door switch is sending an invalid signal
The switch detecting the open/close state of the front door is not working properly. This could be caused by a damaged or faulty switch or a door switch cable that is improperly plugged. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and correct the issue.
302C - Rear door switch is sending an invalid signal
The switch detecting the open/close state of the rear door is not working properly. This could be caused by a damaged or faulty switch or a door switch cable that is improperly plugged. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and correct the issue.
3430 - A 12V DC power supply would not turn on
A 12 V DC power supply would not turn on. This could be caused by a cable that is not seated in the power supply, a power supply that is not fully seated in the electronics tray, or a faulty power supply. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and correct the issue.
3440 - A 12V DC power supply had intermittent power drops during the last 24 hours
A 12 V DC power supply had intermittent power drops during the last 24 hours. This could be caused by the power source seeing power peaks/drops or a faulty power supply. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and correct the issue.
34A1 - A 12V DC power supply was not detected
A 12 V DC power supply was not detected by the tape library. This could be caused by no power source to the power supply, a cable that was improperly plugged, or a faulty power supply. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and correct the issue.
3839 - A 3592 drive was inserted into an LTO drive slot
A 3592 drive was inserted into an LTO drive slot. This fix procedure describes how to correct the issue.

4081 - Gripper did not move
A gripper on the robotic accessor did not move. This could be caused by a gripper motor cable that is not plugged in or other damage to the robotic accessor. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and correct the issue, and if needed remove a stuck cartridge from the gripper.
4082 - Gripper encountered an unexpected hard stop while extending
A gripper on the robotic accessor was trying to extend and encountered an unexpected hard stop. This could be caused by the robotic accessor being misaligned with a target cartridge on a cartridge get or misaligned with a target destination of a slot, magazine, or drive on a cartridge put. This also could indicate damage to the gripper on the robotic accessor. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose the issue and if needed remove a stuck cartridge from the gripper.
4083 - Gripper encountered an unexpected hard stop while retracting
A gripper on the robotic accessor was trying to retract and encountered an unexpected hard stop. This could be caused by damage to the gripper, misalignment of the robotic accessor to the target slot, magazine, or drive, or damage to a specific slot, magazine or drive. 4084 - Gripper encountered a high current condition while extending
A gripper on the robotic accessor encountered a high current condition while extending. This could be caused by a faulty gripper, an obstruction in the path of the gripper, or mis-alignment of the robotic accessor with its target position. 4085 - Gripper encountered a high current condition while retracting

4086 - Gripper was unable to find a hard stop while extending
A gripper on the robotic accessor was unable to find a hard stop while extending. This could be caused by a faulty gripper, loose gripper belt, or a faulty robotic accessor motor controller. 4087 - Gripper was unable to find a hard stop while retracting
A gripper on the robotic accessor was unable to find a hard stop while retracting. This could be caused by a faulty gripper, loose gripper belt, or a faulty robotic accessor motor controller. 4088 - Gripper was unable to get cartridge
A gripper on the robotic accessor was unable to get a cartridge from a slot, magazine, or drive. This could be caused by faulty gripper, misalignment of the robotic accessor to the cartridge, a damaged cartridge, or damaged slot, magazine or drive. 4089 - Gripper was unable to put cartridge
A gripper on the robotic accessor was unable to place a cartridge into a slot, magazine, or drive. This could be caused by faulty grippers or due to an obstruction in the destination location for the cartridge. 408A - Gripper lost power
A gripper on the robotic accessor lost power. This could be caused by an improperly plugged cable, faulty gripper motor, or damaged robot control electronics. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose the issue, and if needed remove a stuck cartridge from the gripper.
408C - Gripper lost a cartridge
A gripper on the robotic accessor lost a cartridge. This caused when a robotic accessor thinks there is a cartridge in the gripper when it is actually empty. This can be caused by a faulty cartridge present flag on a gripper or improperly plugged cable to the cartridge present sensor. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and correct the issue.
4181 - Gripper sensor was blocked when it should not have been
The cartridge present sensor in a gripper on the robotic accessor was blocked when it should not have been. This could be caused by a cartridge stuck between the gripper and a slot, drive or service magazine, a faulty sensor on the gripper, or a improperly plugged cable within the robotic accessor. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and correct the problem and, if needed, remove a stuck cartridge between the robotic accessor and a slot.
4182 - Gripper sensor was not blocked when it should have been
A gripper sensor on the robotic accessor was blocked when it should not have been. This could be caused by a faulty sensor or flag on the gripper or a mis-plugged cartridge present sensor cable. 4570 - RCC is not getting 40V when it should be
The RCC card on the robotic accessor is not receiving 40V power when it should. This could be caused by a problem in the electronics tray where the 40V DC power converter is not working. This fix procedure describes how to correct this problem.
4580 - Accessor X motor did not move
The X motor on the robotic accessor did not move. This could be caused by a motor cable not being fully seated, a robot cable being improperly plugged, or damage to the X motor or drive electronics on the robotic accessor. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and correct this issue.
4581 - Accessor X motion could not find a hard stop while moving left
The X motor on the robotic accessor could not find a hard stop while moving left. This could be caused by a loose X belt, a faulty X motor or drive electronics on the robotic accessor. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and correct this issue.
4582 - Accessor X motion could not find a hard stop while moving right
The X motor on the robotic accessor could not find a hard stop while moving right. This could be caused by a loose X belt, a faulty X motor or drive electronics on the robotic accessor. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and correct this issue.
4583 - Accessor X motion encountered an unexpected hard stop while moving left
The robotic accessor encountered and unexpected hard stop in its X motion while moving left. This could be caused by an obstruction in the robot path or a damaged robot or X motor. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and correct the problem.
4584 - Accessor X motion encountered an unexpected hard stop while moving right

4587 - Accessor X motion failed due to loss of 40 V dc
The X motion of the robotic accessor failed due to a loss of power to the robotic accessor. This could be caused by a cable to the robot being improperly plugged or faulty RCC card on the robotic accessor. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and correct this issue.
4588 - Accessor X motion motor driver failed
The X motor driver on the robotic accessor was unable to correctly achieve the target position of an X move. This could be caused by a faulty X motor or drive electronics on the robotic accessor. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and correct this issue.
4589 - Accessor X motion position drift occurred
An X position drift has occurred on a robotic accessor. This could be caused by a loose X belt, faulty X motor or drive electronics, or an obstruction in the path of the robotic accessor. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and correct the issue.
4680 - Accessor Y motor did not move
The Y motor on the robotic accessor did not move. This could be caused by a motor cable not being fully seated, a robot cable being improperly plugged, or damage to the Y motor or drive electronics on the robotic accessor. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and correct this issue.
4681 - Accessor Y motion could not find a hard stop while moving up
The Y motor on the robotic accessor could not find a hard stop while moving up. This could be caused by damaged Y gears, a faulty Y motor or drive electronics on the robotic accessor. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and correct this issue.
4682 - Accessor Y motion could not find a hard stop while moving down

4683 - Accessor Y motion encountered an unexpected hard stop while moving up

4684 - Accessor Y motion encountered an unexpected hard stop while moving down

4687 - Accessor Y motion failed because of a loss of 40V DC power

4688 - Accessor Y motion failed
The Y motor driver on the robotic accessor was unable to correctly achieve the target position of an Y move. This could be caused by a faulty Y motor or drive electronics on the robotic accessor. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and correct this issue.
4689 - Accessor Y motion failed because of drift
A Y position drift has occurred on a robotic accessor. This could be caused by broken Y gears, faulty Y motor or drive electronics, or an obstruction in the path of the robotic accessor. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and correct the issue.
4891 - Accessor detected a cartridge in the accessor or gripper's path
A tape cartridge was detected in the path of the gripper on the robotic accessor. This could be caused by mis-alignment of the robotic accessor while trying to pick/place a cartridge, damaged components to the robotic accessor, or mis-plugged cables on the robotic accessor. This error is often accompanied by other errors. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and fix the problem, and if needed, remove a stuck cartridge from a gripper.
48A0 - Obstacle detected
This is a supplemental warning that occurs when the robotic accessor detects an obstacle in the path of the X/Y motion or in the gripper of the robotic accessor. This often leads to the library being in a No Motion Allowed (or NMA) state. This fix procedure describes other events to look for in order to diagnose the original problem and clear the library from the NMA state.
48B0 - Accessor re-zero failed
The re-zero operation of the robotic accessor failed. This could be caused by damage to the robotic accessor or end stops or failed electronics on the robotic accessor. This is sometimes accompanied by other errors. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and fix the problem, and if needed, remove a stuck cartridge from a gripper.
5B86 - Accessor could not read a frame barcode label
The robotic accessor could not read a frame barcode label. This could be caused by a damaged frame label or a faulty scanner located on the robotic accessor. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and fix the problem.
9251 - Accessor had no usable grippers for operation
Both grippers on the robotic accessor are marked as unusable. This can be caused by cartridges stuck in both grippers or by damaged/faulty grippers on the robotic accessor. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and if needed, remove a stuck cartridge from a gripper.
9480 - Accessor found a destination element unexpectedly full
The robotic accessor found that a destination slot, drive or service magazine was unexpectedly full. This could be caused by an incorrect library inventory, or by mis-positioning of the robotic accessor to the slot, drive or magazine, or frame damaged hardware. A010 - Cartridge was not detected from the previous inventory
A tape cartridge is unexpectedly missing from a previous inventory. This can be caused by a cartridge that is no longer located in the library where it is expected. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and fix the problem, and if needed, remove a stuck cartridge from a gripper.
A08C - A drive was replaced with an incorrect drive generation
This is caused by replacing a tape drive with a drive type with an incorrect drive generation. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and fix the problem.
B220 - Gripper could not get cartridge from magazine
The gripper on the robotic accessor failed to grab a cartridge from the service magazine. This could be caused by the robotic accessor mispositioned when trying grab from a service magazine, a faulty gripper or a faulty magazine. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and correct the issue.
B221 - Gripper could not put cartridge in I/O station
The gripper on the robotic accessor failed to put a cartridge to the service magazine. This could be caused by the robotic accessor mispositioned when trying to put to a service magazine, a faulty gripper or a faulty magazine. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and, if needed, remove a stuck cartridge from the gripper.
B383 - Gripper could not get cartridge out of slot
The gripper on the robotic accessor failed to grab a cartridge from a storage slot. This could be caused by the robotic accessor mispositioned when trying grab from a storage slot, a faulty gripper or a faulty slot. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and correct the issue.
B384 - Gripper found cartridge stuck in the slot
The gripper on the robotic accessor found a cartridge that was stuck in a slot and could not be removed. This could be caused by a damaged slot, by a damaged gripper, or the robotic accessor mispositioned when trying to grab from a slot. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and correct the issue.
B388 - Gripper could not put cartridge in slot
The gripper on the robotic accessor could not successfully put a cartridge into a storage slot. This could be caused by the robotic accessor being mispositioned in front of the target storage slot, the storage slot could be completely full, or there could be a damaged gripper or slot. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and correct the issue.
B480 - Accessor X or Y motion command exceeded the limits of the library
The robotic accessor X or Y motion command exceeded the limits of the library. This could be caused by missing or damaged end stops or a faulty X or Y motor, or faulty robot control electronics. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and correct the issue.
B501 - Library calibration with accessor failed
The library calibration failed. This could be caused by a dirty/damaged target fiducial, a faulty scanner on the robotic accessor, or not properly positioned by the robotic accessor during the calibration process. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and correct the issue.
B503 - I/O station calibration with accessor failed
The calibration of a Service Magazine failed. This could be caused by a dirty/damaged target fiducial, a faulty scanner on the robotic accessor, or not positioned properly by the robotic accessor during the calibration process. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and correct the issue.
B580 - Accessor could not find a column fiducial
The robotic accessor could not find a column fiducial during a calibration process. This could be caused by a dirty/damaged target fiducial or by a faulty scanner on the robotic accessor. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and fix the problem.
B581 - Accessor encountered a column tilt outside the specified operational limits
The robotic accessor encountered a column tilt outside the specified operational limit. This can be caused by a damaged frame or a faulty scanner on the robotic accessor. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and fix the issue.
B681 - Accessor could not find a drive fiducial
The robotic accessor could not find a drive fiducial during a calibration process. This could be caused by a dirty/damaged target fiducial or by a faulty scanner on the robotic accessor. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and fix the problem.
B790 - Accessor could not find an I/O station fiducial
The robotic accessor could not find a fiducial on the service magazine during a calibration process. This could be caused by a dirty/damaged target fiducial or by a faulty scanner on the robotic accessor. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and fix the problem.
B792 - Accessor detected an un-calibrated frame
The library detected that a frame was not properly calibrated. This could be caused by a failed or interrupted previous attempt at a library calibration. This fix procedure describes how to correct this issue.
B891 - A drive did not unload the cartridge
A tape drive did not eject a tape cartridge. This could be caused by a damaged tape cartridge or a faulty tape drive. This fix procedure describes how to diagnose and fix the problem, and if needed, remove a stuck cartridge from a drive.
B893 - A drive did not load the cartridge
