Creating Tables or Graphs

You can view your spend data in a tabular or graphical format with the Tabulations feature.

Procedure

To create a table or graph, complete the following steps:

  1. Open the dimension for which you want to create a table or graph in the Main View.
  2. You can apply filters, expand nodes, or perform any other operations on the dimensions for which you want to create a graph or table.
  3. Click the Tabulation icon on the dimension header. The Tabulation/Graph dialog box is displayed in the Main Panel.
  4. Type a name for the graph or tabulation in the Name box.
  5. Select the Display Type option as Table or Graph.

If you select the Graph option, select the appropriate graph type from the Graph drop-down list.

  6. In the Content section, complete the following steps:
    • Clear the Nested Pivot Table check box, if it is selected.
    • Select the Dimensions that you want to view in the graph or tabulation using the Row 1 and Column 1 lists.
    • Graphs are only supported for a one row-one column selection.
Note: You can get a message that the graph display type is not supported for the current tabulation. This occurs in the case of large tabulations where it is not possible to display all data graphically.
  7. In the Display Measures section, select the measures that you want to view.
Note: If you select the Graph option, you can select only one measure. Select the Show as Percent check box if you want to view the selected measure as a percentage of the total measure.
  8. In the Tabulation Type, select the Original option.
  9. If you want the tabulation report to be available in the Top Reports section, select Top Reports, and then select the Top Report type from the drop-down list.
Note: When long running tabulations marked as Top Reports are canceled, the canceled top reports are not displayed on the Top Reports page.
  10. In the Preferences section, select one of the following options:
    • Restrict Results to Dimensional Preferences: To use the dimension data in the current state.
    • Override Dimensional Preferences: To override dimensional preferences.
  11. Click Submit.
  12. You can also click Refresh to refresh the view.

Results

After the processing of the graph or table is complete, it is displayed in the Main Panel.
Note: For tabulations that are large (data volume), the tabulation that is generated is not displayed in the Main view. Instead, the following notification is displayed:
The size of this tabulation exceeds the maximum size permitted to be
displayed in this view. Please use Export to Excel/CSV.

For some 3 (rows) x 3 (columns) tabulations, when the number of columns exceeds 1000, the HTML view of the tabulation in the Main view is not displayed properly.

Also, due to the file size limitation in 3 x 3 tabulations, the currency symbol is not repeated in each intersection cell, however it is displayed in the relevant column headers of the tabulation.
