Declining Contracts
The primary contact of the primary external party with the Negotiate Contract task can indicate that a presented contract is not acceptable by declining it online. When declined, the contract can be resumed or withdrawn by an internal party user. An internal user can also withdraw it independently.
Procedure
To decline a contract, complete the following steps:
- Open a contract in the Contract Editor.
- On the Language tab, click the Decline
Contract
icon. - Optional: Click Comment to add a comment.
- In the Decline Contract window, click OK.
Results
When the primary external party primary contact declines a contract, the following occurs
- The primary internal contact of the primary party receives a notification.
- The activity is listed as the Previous Activity in the My Tasks portlet.
- The activity is listed on the Activity tab.
- The Resume button
is enabled.
What to do next
When the primary external party primary contact declines a contract, an internal user with the
appropriate permissions can carry out the following steps:
- Resume negotiation and change the contract that is based on comments that accompany the decline action.
- Terminate the negotiation.
